Meet Brigader Jessica Lin

Meet
BRIGADER:
    Jessica Lin

Western University of Health Sciences, Medical Student Year 2

ABOUT MY TRIP:

Qs: What did this GMB trip in Nicaragua meant or do for you?

1) It was always my dream to become a medical missionary, and after spending my first medical mission trip in Nicaragua with a wonderful team, I was able to get a sweet taste of the wonderful career that lies ahead of me. Can't wait for the next one!

What was your favorite or funniest moment that you can highlight?

2) My most memorable moment was when my classmate Leilani and I spotted a man on a truck with a laceration to his foot and were able to help suture/clean out the machete gash.

Recapturing THE BRIGADE -

Me, Leilani, and Dr. Meyling running consultations at the clinic in Esteli

Filling orders at the pharmacy station with Matt and Leilani. Go team!

In between rotations in front of clinic site.

Finishing the day strong with my classmates - Leilani, Clari, Winnie, and Tracey!

This foot belonged to a male patient who came rushing in with a bloody foot. He had cut his foot off a machete while plowing away in the farming fields. We helped with suturing him back up during consult, and he was extremely thankful.

Our next mobile clinic site in San Gabriel was another educational school ground - very beautiful and welcoming center.
