Meet Brigader Diana Yu

First day of Global Health Brigades, packing medications for clinic!
Meet BRIGADER:
      DIANA YU

Western University of Health Sciences,Medical Student Year 2

ABOUT MY TRIP:

"Working in the local communities of Nicaragua, I was inspired both by the people's suffering and their joy. It was humbling to realize that these people lived with certain chronic and recurring conditions, such as parasites, due to limited access to care. However, it was very awe-inspiring to see the joy that patients expressed upon seeing our team, even after walking miles and waiting in line for hours to receive our services.

My favorite moment was attempting to have conversations in broken Spanish with some of the children from the village of Limón. They were so interested in getting to know our project as well as our culture in the US!"

Recapturing THE BRIGADE -

Seeing pediatric patients under the guidance of Dr. Mumford was the best!

Hanging out with los niños at the clinic in San Gabriel.

With one of us taking medical histories in Spanish and the other taking vitals, triage was a breeze!
